Manipulated by the forces now controlling him, Mulder has been conscripted into a work camp in Hungary. Here the voices inside Mulder’s head compel him to a hole dug in the dry ground, where they unleash an unearthly energy that possesses the rest of the workforce. Fearing that the worksite has been overrun, the operators in charge blow up the tunnels; but the ancient creatures still manage to leave their stolen bodies, escaping through holes in the sky… In the skies above the Atlantic Ocean, Ben-Brahim explains to Agent Scully about the unaccountable changes in behaviour exhibited by the migrants working for his organisation. Their conversation is interrupted by the plane’s pilot, who kills the co-pilot and then detonates a high-pressure fire extinguished that blows out the side of the plane…
